Monthly Archives: August 2010

Almost here, but not quite yet: count down starting.

I’m reading Sputnick Caledonia.

I am…puzzled by it. More thoughts once I finish it.

Almost here, almost back, almost almost.   Almost.

Missed the Edinburgh Book Festival (of course, a little voice says), which means I will have to give it my utmost attention next year. Just a little writing done, although thoughts and ideas and ponderings aplenty. Real Life hasn’t been particularly easy or entertaining in the past year, and it does get in the way of the Important Things (such as Writing).

Oh, apparently there’s a big kerfuffle going on amongst science fiction writers/fans regarding Heinlein (with the usual mistaking the man for the author for the book for the text). I just know that Starship Troopers (1959) is one of my favourite books. I first read it when I was 10-ish, and several times since then. I enjoy it. Have I looked at it critically? Not really. Do I want to? Maybe. It’ll go into the Things To Do List. Yes. That one. Circumnavigating the globe of the little time we have for all the things we want to do.

Count down starting.

PS. I’m adding new Pages to this blog, but not yet much content in them. It’ll come, bear with me. It’s all about structuring and furnishing. A year in a new house, and it still isn’t finished. Blog may take some time too.
